Dear Family,
November 4, 2019
This week
our story is Hot Enough to Fry an Egg.
We will continue working on homographs and pronouns. Remember to try to
use our vocabulary words in context at home.
In math we
will learn to multiply by 1 and by 10 (postponed from last Friday); estimating
and finding the capacity of containers (cup, pint, quart, half-gallon, gallon,
and liter); reading a thermometer to the nearest degree; identify the freezing
and boiling points of water; normal body temperature; estimating a reasonable
temperature; using comparison symbols for greater than, less than, and equals; and
identifying horizontal, vertical, and oblique lines and line segments.
This
Friday, November 8, third grade will sing in our Veterans Day program at 8:15
on the football field. We are to wear red, white, and blue... and look nice! We
don’t want to be sloppy looking for our veterans. An email was sent to all
families about this program.
December 5 is Lakeside’s Christmas
program. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend due to a prior engagement! I
have tickets for an event at the River Center. I know they will sing
beautifully. Miss Janice said I may attend the dress rehearsal.
$25 is due
this Friday for our field trip on December 12.
Congratulations
to Mason for winning the Red Ribbon poster contest! A special thank you to Miss
Michelle Helms and Miss Jenny Brooks for our Halloween party. John Collin
treated us with Halloween candy and Miss Amy Ammons did, too!
Teaching and Loving Yours,
Miss Suzann
