On Friday your child will be bringing home their story about the Trail of Tears. ENJOY!
For Liberty's Legacy we have chosen three individuals as our community heroes. We will
be presenting them with a replica of the Statue of Liberty. Each statue is $35. We
will be raising money between now and April 2 to purchase these. The students
discussed ways they might earn money to go towards this fundraiser.
On Friday the students will be bringing home information about the American Symbols
Poster Project. This is not due until February 25. Be creative and have fun with it!!

Announcements -
On Monday the students will bring home a letter welcoming you to the Liberty's Legacy
Super Citizen Program. To kick off the program, our third graders will be going to the
Eufaula Community Center on February 8 for Kick Off that starts at 9:30. At this time the
students will learn more about the program. On April 8 we will participate in the Celebration/
Graduation from the program. This will be held at the City Auditorium at 12:30. We would
love for you to join us for this time of celebration. (Reminders will come home as it gets
closer to the date of April 8.)
Parents, please return the Photo/Video Acknowledgement and Approval Form for Liberty's
Legacy.

January 31: Mid-year Honors Program at 1:00 to recognize students with all As and all As/Bs the
first or second nine weeks. Great job!
The students are learning the song "You in the USA." They will be singing it on February 8
when we go to Eufaula Community Center for the Kick Off Program for Liberty's
Legacy. You can go on YouTube and find the song (also referred to as Only You).
This way the students will be able to practice it at home.
February 14 at 2:00 - Valentine party. I will send home the list of 17 students in about
a week in case your child wants to prepare and deliver Valentine cards to the class.
Don't you just love Valentine's Day!?!

Our first week in 2019 was a great one!! The students are working hard. I know they
will keep up the good work. I am so proud of them!

will keep up the good work. I am so proud of them!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, parents and students!!
I hope you enjoyed your Christmas Break. As much as I enjoyed mine, I am ready to
get the second semester underway. Excited, honored, and blessed only begin to
describe how I feel being given this opportunity to be the third grade teacher at Lakeside.
I look forward to working with the students each day!! Ms. Pam

December 10th-18th
Announcements:
- These last 7 school days before Christmas break are full of fun activities. Therefore, we will not be taking a Reading or Spelling test this week. We will be completing classwork in these subjects that may be graded throughout the week.
- Our field trip to the Springer Opera House is Tuesday, December 11th. Please be at school by 7:10. We will leave by 7:20. We need to have time to find parking and use the restroom before the performance begins. Students need to wear nice church clothes, a nice uniform, or a nice Christmas outfit to the play. Please make sure clothes are clean and pressed.
- The Big Chief/Little Chief Tacky Christmas Sweater party is Wednesday, December 12th. Students will not exchange gifts with their Big Chiefs. The SGA has asked all Little Chiefs to bring a bottle of lotion for the nursing home in place of gifts.
- The Christmas Musical is Monday, December 17th. Polar Express is also this day.
- Our class Christmas party is December 18th. I will send home a letter with more information soon.
