Dear Family, October
21, 2019
Thank you
for your support of our Fall Festival! A fun time was had by all. If you’re
sending money to pay for class pictures…it’s due tomorrow.
Congratulations
to John Collin! His name was drawn from completed Reading Charts. He won $1.
Remember to fill these out each week. They are in our binders. There is a
letter from our music teacher, Janice Adams, in our folders today.
Report
cards will come home Wednesday. I’m elated by our growth. Keep it up. The most
helpful things you can do each week are use our vocabulary words at home, make
sure your child is reading, review our work and offer support, and keep
practicing those math facts! Multiplication is around the corner.
We will
have our spelling and reading tests this Thursday, October 24. Tornadoes
is an interesting selection and applicable to where we live, unfortunately.
Remember we use our textbook during the reading test so please don’t worry
about memorizing the different aspects of the EF scale.
In math
this week, we will learn to add three or more single-digit numbers; telling
time to five-minute intervals; identifying a.m. and p.m. as well as the number
of minutes in an hour and hours in a day; adding 7 and 8; and conducting a
survey. This means we will have learned to add 0-9!!
Thank you
to Daryn for bringing her butterfly to school! She watched it from a
caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly! And Becky McPherson taught our class
Friday morning. I really appreciate her volunteering her time.
Loving
and Teaching Yours,
Miss
Suzann
